It’s the last day of the year, what could I possibly have to say before I start another day…or year? Should I reflect on the past 12 months or should I project into the future by setting goals? Maybe a little of both, of course, why not? Reflections and Predictions.
From February to June of 2011, there was a lot wrangling, whining, moaning and groaning. In case you forgot, I am referring to the fracturing of the sleep engines. BRPT, AAST and AASM/ABSM, motors that once hummed the same tune but then lost their timing belt.
Last year, right around this time, I wrote a blog about Black Friday. That blog contained some predictions about the future of sleep and technology, or perhaps just some rambling. You can follow this link to see if I am very good at being a prognosticator http://www.rtsleepworld.com/blogs/sleep-blog/it-artifact-or-artifiction-incoherent-ramblings-stage-5-21
Professionalism, that’s a good word. As used by the Encarta Dictionary, professional standards = the skill, competence, or character expected of a member of a highly trained profession. That’s interesting, but it doesn’t define professionalism. I think professionalism is like beauty, it’s in the eye of the beholder.
Excuse me; does the speaker have time for a question?
It could just be me, but it seems every time the ABSM/AASM comes out with a statement or makes a presentation, it always seems rehearsed, patterned, like a canned speech. The show is always good, the actors are beyond reproach with professional credentials, and the delivery is always impressive. Everything flows so smooth, until someone takes the time to say…what if? Or perhaps, can you tell me why…?
Incoherent ramblings from stage 5, was it a stroke of genius, or madness? Doesn’t really matter, the title covers it all, and I like it. Let’s roll the clock back, to say:
The number of individuals sending me information and volunteering has increased. It does take me a while to sort and create, but progress has been made. Creating a new entity is an endeavor which will be time consuming, some goals/actions will take longer to achieve than others.
